We have two principal rooms which are ideal for conferences and private meetings, privacy guaranteed. The ‘Garden Room’ can seat 25 boardroom style and up to 50 theatre style. ‘Quail’ can seat up to 15 boardroom style or 20 theatre style.

The Garden Room is light and airy with picturesque views over the croquet lawn toward the Victorian walled garden.

This room is ideal for small private events. It serves as a VIP meeting room with seating up to 28 around an oval table, or can seat up to 40 for private dining. This room is also used for art exhibitions, lectures and training sessions. It features:

  • Working Wall

  • Air Conditioning

  • Remote Controlled Lighting

  • Natural Daylight

  • Flipcharts

  • Overhead Projectors

  • Other specialist equipment can be hired if required.

The Quail, formerly the music room, is a charming, light and airy room facing South with views over the deer park.

This room is also suitable for private dining or for small executive meetings seating up to 15. It has special lighting and its location near reception allows for quick access to email, facsimile, telephone and/or service.

    The Public Rooms

Beautifully furnished with antiques, original paintings and collections of fine porcelain, the elegant public rooms are much as they were when this was a private house; large and luxuriously comfortable, oh so inviting to the wearing traveller, hankering for a refreshing pot of tea, a glass of wine or a place to rest with a good book.

    The Hall

A sweet smelling log fire is almost always there to greet you in the main lobby area with the exception of the warmest summer nights! It is a favourite place to sit for many of our returning guests to relax, read the newspaper or to take afternoon tea.

    Library

The Library is light and airy with views to the South over the flower filled circular drive and deer park, and features a selection of fine books to browse, old paintings, a huge antique writing desk and comfortable lounge chairs. This is also a favourite place to read the morning newspaper, play a game of chess or to have an intimate discussion whilst taking your late morning coffee.

    Drawing Room

The Drawing Room has views to the South and West overlooking the deer park and crouquet lawn. This room is a bit more formal, but none the less cosy and comfortable, especially when the wood fire is burning.

It is a great place for afternoon tea as the sun sets in the West, flooding this room with its soft glow and colourful flashes, as light is reflected around the room and refracted through the crystal drops of the chandelier.

    Bar

The Bar sitting area is decorated in warm greens and light gold colours and, like the other public rooms, has a lovely fireplace. A wide variety of aged single malt whiskies and cocktails are available from our well stocked bar.

A very romantic setting as the view is also toward the South entrance of the historic Victorian walled garden with its borders filled with a profusion of annuals, perennials, and old varieties of roses, which add a big splash of exciting colour to this bucolic scene.

A nice feature of this room is that there is direct access to the patio where you can discreetly take lunch, tea or cocktails and, weather permitting, watch the sun set over the croquet lawn and deer park.
